Epilepsy Awareness – Y4
Year 4 Robins Learn About Epilepsy Awareness
This week, Year 4 Robins took part in a very important and informative epilepsy awareness session.
The children listened carefully to a specialist nurse who visited the class. Prior to the session, the pupils had thoughtfully prepared and submitted their own questions, which the nurse answered in detail. This helped to make the learning meaningful and ensured that the children were fully engaged throughout.

During the session, the class learned about the different types of epilepsy and how they can affect people in different ways. The nurse explained that not all seizures look the same, helping to challenge common misconceptions and deepen the children’s understanding.

A key part of the session focused on what to do if someone is having a seizure. The children learned practical steps they can take to help keep someone safe, as well as when it is important to seek additional support by seeking an adult. Robins were very good to know they need to respond calmly and responsibly in such situations.

I Well done, Year 4 Robins, for your thoughtful questions and positive attitude towards such an important topic!
