Maths Week and Persevering

Today marks the first day of Maths Week and Mr Johnston took assembly today to introduce the week to all children at Bells Farm.

Mr Johnston asked children what the word “perseverance” meant to them. The children were shown the story of “The little engine that could” to demonstrate this.

Persevering at Maths challenges this week is at the heart of a successful Maths Week and Mr Johnston showed some pictures that use Maths. The children were able to describe brilliantly what the link was.

Maths Week will involve perseverance and problem solving activities. Children have been given the show a hundred task, which children have been encouraged to complete at home with friends and family, to bring back to school this week. And finally the Maths challenge taking place here on the school website.

Good luck to all the children at Bells Farm!
