Parent advice about recent online safety reports

In the last few days, some parents have informed us about concerns related to recent reports of new online challenges targeting young people.

Bells Farm would like to assure parents that these challenges are a hoax and as always our advice is to have a discussion with your child about the positive and negative things on the internet. We continue to have these discussions in school with children but the message needs to be consistent both in and outside of school.

Naturally, some children are going to be frightened by what they see, yet this hoax is spreading so far and wide due to the sensationalism that more and more children are seeing it.

We would urge parents not to discuss directly with children about the challenges, this can spread panic and also gives children the opportunity for unnecessary and possible false discussion about it with their friends.
