Steve McCabe has a discussion with the children

Today at Bells Farm a group of Years 4, 5 and 6 children met Mr Steve McCabe, the local MP for Selly Oak.

The children had spent the week discussing and finding out about Parliament and had come up with a series of questions to ask Mr McCabe about his role as an MP. The questions were very thoughtful and insightful and Mr McCabe gave us a rare insight into life in Parliament. The group watched a short You Tube clip called ‘Parliament in 60 seconds’ which gave a potted version of what happens in Parliament – please have a look.

Mrs Knipe was very proud of the children who took part and Mr McCabe was very impressed with their questions – well done!

This is great, a wonderful opportunity for Bells Farm Children to understand how Parliament works and the very real impact it has on our lives and their education

I’d love to know what answers Steve gave to some of the questions!
