Racing to Read – Positive Parental Participation group go to Birmingham Library

Our wonderful group of parents and children spent today in Birmingham. We spent the morning in the main library and had a fantastic time looking around the building and reading all sorts of books. After lunch we visited Waterstones and looked at a range of books – each child and adult had the opportunity, as part of the programme, to choose a book to take home. They are all very excited to get home and start reading them! We took advantage of the Christmas feeling in the city and walked through the German market and the children had a ride on the carousel – a great way to end the day!

I loved today! I was so impressed with the children! It was great fun in the Birmingham library…and all that reading certainly made sure they all knew what they wanted to choose when we got to the bookshop!

Delighted to hear about your visit to Birmingham Library. Would love to hear about some of the books you chose.
