World Book Day is coming!

As part of our drive to maintain, promote and engage pupil interest in reading, the school is holding a World Book dressing up day on Friday 6th March.

On this special day, your child can come to school dressed as a favourite character from any book. During the week the children will be participating in lots of exciting activities:

Monday 2nd March – ERIC’s new challenge is launched in World Book Day Assembly.

Tuesday 3rd March – Children will be asked to bring in their favourite book from home to share in ERIC.

Wednesday 4th March – Children will share books with different year groups.

Thursday 5th March – Children will bring home their book tokens. Please take them to a shop where they can spend them! There are options for free books or it can be used to get £1 off any book.

Friday 6th March – Dressing up day.

The book fair will be available for classes to browse on Thursday 12th March during the school day. Children can then buy books from the fair from Friday 13th – Thursday 19th March. The book fair will be open in the library area from 3:15 until 3:40 daily. Please collect your child from class and then enter school through the main entrance. There will be lots of great titles with prices starting from £2.99.

It would be good to discuss with your child different characters from their favourite books. The dressing up possibilities are endless however, please don’t spend lots of money on an outfit. Making one can be even more fun!

So get thinking and reading! We look forward to seeing your child dressed up for the special day on Friday 6th March.
