Bringing History to Life

Year 6 were recently visited by David, the history man. The children spent the morning learning all about World War Two, what events led up to the war, what daily life was like, etc. David started the workshop telling the children all about Germany and how it was made up of lots of different kingdoms before it became a country. We then spoke a little about World War One before moving on to World War Two.

Around the room were different stations which the children were taken to and told lots of interesting facts about. These were some of the stations that the children had to enjoy:
  • World map to show which countries were involved
  • Uniforms for the children to try on
  • Stretcher for the children to act out using
  • Shooting practise with target boards
  • Gas masks for the children to try on
  • Air raid siren

The children had a wonderful morning learning all about different aspects of the war. A huge thank you to David for delivering such an engaging workshop for our children!
