The History Man Visits, Y4, Y5 and Y6

Year 6 had a wonderful time with David spending the afternoon learning all about World War Two. The children started by learning briefly about World War One and how that impacted and influenced World War Two. The children were then told all about different aspects of life from that period of time and shown lots of different artefacts to help them understand. There were gas masks, toys, rifles, and even an actual air-raid siren! The air-raid siren was rather loud but the children really enjoyed hearing it. After learning lots of amazing facts, the children were given some time to explore all of the different items that David had brought along with him. They dressed up, shot at targets, used the air-raid siren themselves and much more. The children had a brilliant time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves as they always do with the History Man.
Our wonderful History Man did not disappoint this year. He had some fabulous new artefacts to show the children such as maps and Viking villages. The children once again got to dress up in full costume and take part in several Tug of War competitions as well as playing traditional Viking games and learning to sword fight with David himself! It was as always, so informative, and the children learnt an awful lot.
Robins had a fantastic time with The History Man.  They explored the time-line, the size of the Roman Empire. They had opportunities to play Roman inspired games and try on various Roman outfits. The Soldier armour was definetly a favourite.
