The welfare and safety of children who attend our school is our paramount concern. We will promote the health, well-being and safety of the pupils in all we do. We recognise that our children have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability. We understand our responsibilities set out under section 175 of the 2002 Education Act and the latest version of the DfE statutory guidance “Keeping Children Safe in Education” to work together in partnership with other agencies to help children to grow up in a healthy and safe environment.
All adults who work with children have a duty to promote their welfare and keep them safe. The Children’s Act sets out these responsibilities as:
“The requirement to keep children free from maltreatment, to prevent the impairment of children’s health and development and to ensure that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.”
All members of staff promote an environment where children can learn in a safe, caring, stimulating and positive environment and where their social, emotional, physical and moral welfare and development is our highest priority. All children will know they are valued and their concerns will be taken seriously and addressed by the adults who care for them. We want all children to feel safe and know what to do if they ever have concerns about any aspect of their physical or emotional safety.
If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of children at our school, please bring them to our attention. There are forms available at the front office and in the foyer to log your concern, and we assure you it will be dealt with within 24 hours. Please also note our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies on our website.
The welfare and safety of pupils who attend our school is our paramount concern. We will promote the health, well-being and safety of the pupils in all we do.

Bells Farm takes part in a project run jointly between schools and West Midlands Police called Operation Encompass. This involves WMP reporting to schools, prior to the start of the next school day, when a child or young person has been exposed to, or involved in, any domestic incident.
Operation Encompass ensures that a member of the school staff, known as a Key Adult, is trained to allow them to liaise with the local authority and to use the information that has been shared, in confidence, while ensuring that the school is able to make provision for possible difficulties experienced by children, or their families, who have been involved in, or exposed to, a domestic abuse incident.
We are keen to offer the best support possible to all our pupils and we believe this to be extremely beneficial for all those involved.
