Year 6 Residential

Today (Monday 26th June) Year 6 went on their residential to the Pioneer Centre. They left school at 9:45 and arrived just before 11. They were given a tour by their group leaders and then were sent to make their beds!

First on the agenda was lunch (of course!) and then they had a little free time in their rooms.

This afternoon they took part in their first activities. The class has been split into three groups and have been given a group leader from the centre along with a teacher from school.

Mrs Calbreath’s group did high ropes and archery.

Mr Millar-Evans’ group did abseiling, zip wiring and challenge course.

Miss Edwards’ group did the challenge course and then high ropes.

They then went off for fish fingers, chips and peas (with arrangements being made for those with dietry needs) followed by a movie night. The staff have been wonderful and very accommodating and the children have been wonderfully behaved. We have some real daredevils in Year 6 as you will see from the photos. However, the nicest thing so far has been to see how wonderfully supportive and encouraging they are of each other. They really work so well as a team and the teachers couldn’t be prouder.

There will be plenty more photos to follow so please do keep checking back on the website.
